The Friends of South Georgia Regional Library (FOL) was established in 1996 as a 501(c)(3) organization. Its primary purpose is to support the South Georgia Regional Library system in its goal to enrich the lives of residents of Echols, Lanier, and Lowndes counties. The FOL helps with the purchase of books and media for the Library as well as supports many children’s and adult programs. Funds are generated through the resale of donated books, membership dues, and donations. In the past seven years, the FOL has donated a little over $200,000 to the South Regional Library System.
